What is the best app to track money in Brazilian real and euro?

Updated on 9 October 2026

Quick answer

The best app keeps each currency in its own balance instead of converting everything into one. MeJu does that: real and euro live in the same space, each with its own balance, and you import your bank statement as a PDF or CSV instead of typing. Your data is stored in the European Union (Ireland).

The problem with mixing two currencies

People with money in Brazil and in Europe usually fall into one of two traps. The first is converting everything into a single currency, so the total moves every day even though you spent nothing. The second is keeping two separate spreadsheets and never seeing the real picture of the month.

The calmer approach is to treat each currency as its own account: what comes in and goes out in reais stays in reais, and the same for euros. Conversion only shows up when you actually exchange money from one to the other.

What to look for in a real and euro app

  • A separate balance per currency, with no hidden automatic conversion.
  • A way to log an exchange when you move money, without counting it as spending or income.
  • Statement import from the banks you use on both sides (a Brazilian bank and a European one, for example).
  • Reports that do not add reais and euros together as if they were the same thing.
  • Clarity on where your data is stored and who can see it.

How to think about the exchange rate

Use the rate from the day you exchanged the money, not today's rate. If you exchanged a thousand reais and received a given amount in euros, the amount that actually arrived is the number to record.

Avoid comparing a month across two currencies using the current rate. Compare reais with reais and euros with euros. If you need a single view, pick one reference rate per period and use it consistently.

How MeJu handles real and euro

In MeJu you choose the active currencies in your space (real, euro or both), and each has its own balance and monthly reading. There is a transfer tab to log an exchange between real and euro: it affects your balance but does not count as spending or income.

To avoid typing everything, you drag in a PDF or CSV statement or card bill. We read the file, organize the transactions and discard the original. MeJu does not connect directly to your bank account: import is by file, and you decide what goes in.

The WhatsApp Assistant, included in the subscription, can also log an exchange from a message.

When MeJu is not the best fit

  • If you want an automatic bank connection with no file download, MeJu does not offer that.
  • If you need more than two currencies, MeJu works with real and euro.
  • If you use one currency and a simple spreadsheet is enough, you may not need an app.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a finance app that handles real and euro at the same time?

Yes. MeJu lets you keep real and euro in the same space, each with its own balance. Other apps do too, but many convert everything into one main currency, which distorts the month.

How do I track spending in Brazil and Europe together?

Record each expense in the currency where it happened and read the month per currency. Log an exchange only when you actually move money, using the amount that arrived.

Does MeJu convert real to euro automatically?

No. It keeps each balance in its own currency. When you exchange money, you log a transfer with the amount that left and the amount that arrived.

Which banks can MeJu import from?

It imports PDF or CSV statements and card bills from Brazilian banks such as Nubank, Inter, XP, C6, Banco do Brasil and Bradesco, and European ones such as Revolut, Wise, AIB and Bank of Ireland. Some are marked beta, so check the values before saving.

Do I need a card to try MeJu?

Yes. A card is requested upfront to keep automated abuse out, but nothing is charged during the 14-day trial and you can cancel in one click.

Where is my data stored?

In the European Union, in Ireland. The PDF or CSV you import is discarded after reading, and only the transactions are kept inside your space.
